Fatuma Halake ha abitato fino a qualche anno fa, nella baraccopoli di Deep Sea, da cui ha dovuto trasferirsi per evitare che i ragazzi di strada, di cui si prende cura, tornassero a sniffare colla.
Ha conseguito il Kenya Certificate of Primary Education e, rimasta vedova con quattro figli, ha svolto i lavori più diversi per sostenere la propria famiglia. Fino ad ora ha crescuto più di una decina di bambini di strada insieme ai propri figli, affidandosi ai principi educativi della cultura della tribù Borana di cui fa parte.
Questi bambini sono ora ragazzi maggiorenni ed hanno quasi tutti conseguito il diploma di scuola secondaria. Lei si prende cura anche di alcuni dei nostri disabili. Fatuma è di religione musulmana e, oltre ad occuparsi delle relazioni tra Pepea Trust, i genitori, le scuole e le autorità locali, cura anche la formazione religiosa dei nostri  bambini musulmani.

Until a few years ago, Fatuma Halake lived in the Deep Sea slum from which she had to move to prevent the street children she takes care of from returning to sniff glue.
She holds the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and, widowed with four children, she has done a variety of jobs to support her family.
Up to now, she has raised more than a dozen street kids together with her own children, relying on the educational principles of the culture of the Borana tribe, of which she is a member.
These children are now adults and almost all have graduated from secondary school. She also looks after some of our disabled people.
Fatuma is a Muslim and, in addition to be in charge of the relations between Pepea Trust, parents, schools and local authorities, she takes also care of the religious formation of our Muslim children.
